I think this is great to show inventors how to get started with new ideas and take them through the innovations process.

Futuristic Innovations Are Born On New Discovery Channel Series

(NAPSI)-We’ve all been there at one point or another-stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic, horns honking, palms sweating, blood pressure rising. With the increasing amount of time Americans spend in their cars each day, road rage is a phenomenon we’ve all been affected by.

However, new technology that monitors a driver’s agitation level while he or she is behind the wheel may make road rage-and those who suffer from it-a thing of the past. The mind-controlled car, which restricts a car’s performance when its driver becomes upset, is just one of several modern innovations featured on Discovery Channel’s new series, “Prototype This.”

“Prototype This” brings viewers straight to the drawing board and through the design process to experience firsthand as inventions come to life. From the producers of Discovery Channel’s hit series “MythBusters,” “Prototype This” features a four-person team of experts, specializing in engineering, electronics, special effects and fabricating, who work each week to develop one-of-a-kind prototypes of tomorrow for people to experience today.

The Week In Review is about drawing pictures to show what happened during the week. I think this should be expanded to include projects, ideas, and events in our lives on a weekly basis. This could be a picture diary covering what is going on.

These could also be used for covering new inventions, innovations, or ideas and showing how they relate like a weekly mindmap.

Welcome to the online home of the Maker’s Notebook.

What is the Maker’s Notebook?
A 170-page project notebook optimized for Makers. The book contains 150 pre-numbered, non-removable pages of 1/8″ engineering graph paper with a place on each page for Idea/Project Title, Date, and a Notes/Signature field. There are also “From Page _____” and “To Page _____” fields, so you can link project pages together, and two blank Table of Contents pages. The Maker’s Notebook was designed to conform to basic standards of inventor, engineer, and laboratory notebooks.

The book also contains 20 pages of reference material, everything from common weights and measures and country calling codes to resistor and capacitor charts and the basics of circuit testing and LED selection. There’s also some whimsical geekery to start conversations with fellow Notebook users down at the coffee shop — things like, well, since you’re at a coffee shop — the caffeine content of various beverages, how to say “Hello, World” in various computer languages, and fun mnemonic devices.
